How to Check Price History in India

A discount is only as good as the price it is measured against. Checking a product's price history shows what it really sold for in recent months, so you can tell a genuine low from a list price raised before a sale. This guide covers Amazon.in, Flipkart, Myntra and Nykaa, using PriceBefore, which is free and needs no installation.

Step 1: Copy the product link

Open the product in the store's app or website and copy its link. In the apps, use the share button and choose "Copy link"; in a browser, copy the address bar. Short share links work too: amzn.in links for Amazon and dl.flipkart.com links for Flipkart are resolved automatically. For Myntra copy the product page link from myntra.com, and for Nykaa the link from nykaa.com.

Step 2: Paste it into PriceBefore

Paste the link into the search box below and press Check Price History. If the product is already tracked you land on its page straight away; if it is new, PriceBefore fetches the current price and starts tracking it from that moment.

Step 3: Read the chart

The product page shows the current price, the lowest and highest price recorded, and a chart of every change. Two things are worth checking before you buy: how today's price compares with the lowest point, and whether the "MRP" the discount is calculated from has itself moved. A price that is near its historical low is a good buy; a large percentage off a list price that was raised last month is not.

Step 4: Set a price drop alert

If the price is higher than you want to pay, enter a target price in the Create Price Drop Alert box on the product page. PriceBefore emails you when the product reaches it. Alerts are free: up to three products without an account, up to thirty with a free account, and your tracking list shows everything you are watching. For a general feed of big drops, follow the latest deals page or the PriceBefore Telegram and WhatsApp channels.

Store by store

Amazon.in

Amazon.in shows a short price history of its own on some product pages. PriceBefore keeps an independent record of the same listing, so you can check further back and compare it against the Flipkart price of the same product. Both the full product URL and the amzn.in share link work.

Flipkart

Flipkart does not show past prices. Paste the product link, or the dl.flipkart.com share link from the app, into PriceBefore to see how the price has moved, including during sale events such as the Big Billion Days.

Myntra

Copy the product link from the Myntra app or myntra.com and paste it into PriceBefore. Fashion prices change often, so the chart is useful for judging whether a sale price is actually lower than last month's.

Nykaa

Copy the product link from nykaa.com (it contains /p/ followed by the product number) and paste it into PriceBefore to track the price of a beauty or personal care product and set an alert.

Tips for sale season

Add the products you want a few weeks before a big sale, so the chart shows the pre-sale price. Compare the sale price against the lowest recorded price rather than against the list price. And set alerts at the price you would be happy with, so you do not have to keep checking.
